Given the rise of informal/unsanctioned art outside official theatrical spaces in recent years in Iran, Re-Connect is hosting a specialized event on documenting and archiving these performances
Archive: In-Progress is a collective effort to recognize this unofficial movement. In critical social moments, archives become spaces for documenting truth, resistance, and human experience. They are not merely collections of documents and records but living testimonies of what citizens and artists have endured. By archiving personal experiences, artworks, and the process of confronting censorship, artists create a counter-narrative that often diverges significantly from the dominant narratives. Archives are time capsules. They provide undeniable evidence of the limitations and complexities of life, art, and resistance. They ultimately allow a deeper understanding of historical injustices for future generations.
